Prepping your client’s natural lashes is one of the most important steps in your lash routine, and often the most overlooked. Without the right pre-treatment routine, even the best glue won’t deliver lasting results. Oils, makeup residue, and natural proteins on the lashes can all interfere with the adhesive bond, leading to poor retention and early lash fallout.

From gentle lash cleansers to powerful primers, each product has been tested and approved by lash artists to ensure they’re effective yet safe for all clients, including those with sensitive eyes.

Our lash pre-treatment range is designed to help you get the most out of every set. From gentle lash cleansers to primers, each product removes dirt, oils, and makeup residue to create a clean surface for stronger, longer-lasting bonds.

We recommend you start by cleansing client’s lashes with our Gentle Lash Cleansers to remove oils and residue. Follow with either Primer to prep and balance the lashes, or Superbonder, which can be used at the start to speed up the glue’s curing time or at the end to reduce fumes, and sensitivity.

Eyelash Extension Pre-Treatment FAQs

Why is lash pre-treatment important?

Proper pre-treatment is essential for achieving strong and long-lasting lash extensions. It removes oil, makeup residue, and dirt from the natural lashes, creating a clean surface that allows the adhesive to bond effectively. Extensions simply won’t stick to dirty lashes, and skipping this step can lead to poor retention, early fallout, and even potential irritation or infection.

What steps should I follow for lash pre-treatment?
  • Cleanse the lashes thoroughly using our Gentle Lash Cleansers
  • Apply Primer to remove oil, dust and makeup debris as well as prepare the lashes for better glue adhesion.
  • Apply Superbonder either to the natural lashes or the base of the extensions to help speed up the glue’s curing process and improve overall retention.

Note: If the natural lashes are thoroughly clean and oil-free, you can skip the primer step. Always ensure the lashes are completely dry before starting the application.

Can I use your Primer and Superbonder with other brands of glues?

Yes, our products are compatible with most brands of eyelash extensions. However, for best results and retention, we recommend using them with Lash Jungle adhesives.

How much Primer or Superbonder should I use?

A little goes a long way. Apply a very small amount using a micro brush, just enough to lightly coat the natural lashes. Avoid using too much and be sure to remove any excess to prevent the product from seeping into your client’s eye.
